We are retired people who love to travel. Our student days when we hitch-hiked through Europe with Frommers "Europe on $5 a Day" have long since gone. But we have discovered that there are other innovative ways of seeing the world on a limited budget which can be as interesting and rewarding. One of our lasting memories of Turkey are its people and especially the children. Nowhere, even in the poorest areas of city or village, did we see sullen or unhappy children.
